The project consists of a visitor center and garden situated at the entrance of the trailhead to the Oasis of Mara in Twentynine Palms, CA, near Joshua Tree National Park. Alongside an exploration of precedent-based design research, the emphasis is on the connection between the site and its surrounding landscape, the integration of building form and space, and the relationship with the ground.
